Blog #114 Embrace the Sacred in the Everyday!

All the little miracles we experience every day are remarkable! When sitting outside on the deck in Mt Shasta at our cabin overlooking Siskyou Lake and relaxing and meditating, I opened my eyes and to my surprise there was a beautiful Stellar Blue Jay sitting on the railing just saying hello. What a gift!

I also love watching my kitties at play, they have no worries or fears, just a crumbled up piece of paper makes them happy for hours. I learn so much from them, they are such an incredible example of being in present time and enjoying the moment.

Or going out into my backyard there are Monarch Butterflies flying all around me and laying their eggs and drinking nectar from the Milkweed plants. I am so grateful for all the amazing colors and fragrances, the gifts from God!

Many lessons from the master teachers are about finding the sacred in the ordinary, in our neighbors, friends, and family and even in our own kitchen or backyard.

Sitting in my backyard, I watch our two little birdhouses that each have a family of four baby Wrens just about to fledge and fly off to their freedom and new life. The Wrens are following their hearts’ call to find a mate. It always makes me smile that they come back almost every year and nest in our birdhouses and raise a family. Mother Nature is such a blessing for us all!

Last year, taking a little walk on the beach in Hawaii, I was sending a telepathic hello to the Wild Spinner Dolphins that I could see way out in the bay. Communicating with them is such a joy; as I watched I could see there was a large pod and as I got in the water to go snorkeling they came closer and started jumping and swimming around me. I could hear and feel all through my body the clicks and whistles from their sonar that they were making as they communicated with me. Just an amazing healing and feeling!

As I sent a telepathic picture to them to jump and spin, to my amazement they started jumping and spinning and with every leap and jump expressing so much joy. I snorkeled with them for about an hour and a half, it was miraculous!!! I felt their healing and joy and love in every cell of my body. But then I was starting to get tired and needed to swim in and take a break. As I sent out a telepathic thank you for the healing and told them see you later, I started to swim in to get out of the bay and realized they were swimming right along with me. As I swam to climb up on the rocks to get out of the water, it felt like they were escorting me home, so magical.

When I got out of the water and finally sat down and looked out into the bay, I could see them swimming out of bay and into open Ocean and on their way. It was such a powerful transforming experience with them, sharing our joy! I felt so happy like I was on cloud nine.

We find the sacred all around us, in our garden watching a hummingbird or a dragonfly. Walking up our street seeing the bunnies that come out only at dusk, or watching the neighborhood resident Red Tail Hawk that I call “Flame”; soaring on the thermals in the afternoon or communicating with your Guides and Teachers as you watch the clouds float by.

What about this ordinary place is extraordinary?

What about You, is extraordinary? Think about it-Everything IS!!!

Every day find the extraordinary in your life.

We get to choose to be awake and aware to all the possibilities.

We have the gift of this present moment bringing all the surprises of life – allow yourself to truly enjoy it!
