Blog #128 Getting Our Sleep On!
Seems most of my life, on and off, I have had trouble sleeping, either my pets waking me up or me worrying about someone or something.
Sound familiar?
I have learned through the years some helpful tools to setting our intention for sleep and traveling on the astral.
By focusing on positive thoughts, we open the door to more positive experiences. When we consciously choose to think positively, we invite more joy, abundance, and success into our lives.
Grounding ourselves and clearing out the day from our space just by grounding it all off is so powerful. Then we can relax and be in present time and ready to sleep and go out and travel on the astral.
Wayne Dyer suggested using the last five minutes before sleep to focus on the positive things we want to see in the coming day. Instead of fixating on what’s going wrong in our lives, we can use those eight hours of sleep to help manifest our desired outcomes.
Thinking and worrying about all the negative things before we go to sleep and throughout the night isn’t helpful.
Louise Hay recommended changing your thinking through affirmations. She suggests repeating positive affirmations throughout the day to help reprogram your thoughts about yourself and attract positive outcomes into your life. By consistently affirming your strengths and desires, you can shift your perspective and create a more fulfilling reality.
All it takes is five minutes before we go to sleep each night to focus on the positive things we would like to create in our lives. By setting this intention, we can cultivate a more uplifting mindset as we drift off to sleep.
Create a bedtime ritual which actually begins during the day
Exercising early in the day
Only take short power naps if needed
Eating a lighter dinner and stop drinking water, coffee or tea after 3pm
Taking a warm bath or shower with peaceful music
Reading a little an hour before bed
As you wind down, turn OFF all electronics: phone, TV, computer, and tablet… I can actually feel the buzz of energy turn off in my bedroom and in my body. Amazing!
An hour before bed:
When possible go outside for a few minutes and look up at the stars and take a deep breath and say hello to God and the Oneness of All; feel that we are truly all limitless and One. Experience the feeling that everything is in divine flow!
Meditate;
Being in the silence of meditation for a few minutes to take time to ground and relax and release the day. Because as we go about our day, we pick up a lot of other people’s energies in our space and after a while, it feels like it’s all our own energy, but it’s not and we can clear it out.
Just create a new grounding cord for yourself from your first chakra (tailbone) all the way to the center of the Earth. Visualize a hollow redwood tree and see it connected to your first chakra and going all the way down to the center of the Earth and just lock in. Let go of all the energies that are not yours and see it going down the grounding cord like sand and as it hits the center of the Earth, poof it’s neutralized. Forgive them for what they did or did not do, and have them forgive you and most importantly forgive yourself as well. Thank all the people from that day that helped you or that you learned from on your path. Bless them and release them. Then ground off any of your worries, fears, doubts, invalidations and concerns. Just let it all go. Breathe and feel the calm ease in your body.
Then bless and give thanks for all your family and friends and all your angels, guides and teachers for all the help for that day and every day. Thank your body for all it does as your amazing body temple.
Begin to call back all your energy from the day into a big gold Sun above your head and see it get nice and big with love, peace, joy, validation, acceptance and compassion and whatever else you would like to create. Then open the gold Sun like a big egg and let it shower down and fill you up from the top of your head to the tips of your toes and out into your aura. Feel the freedom in your space. Notice each cell and all your spaces are renewed with your incredible life force energy. Own your own space for yourself. Enjoy, breathe and just BE!
Create your intention; what would you like to create?
Notice how much more relaxed and centered you feel. As you get ready to go to sleep set for a restful night sleep, to remember your dreams and where you traveled to on the astral. Then you will wake up renewed, refreshed and revitalized to have a joyous miraculous new day.
Open up your hands nice and wide and then relax them completely. Let this be another easy way to just let go and release everything to God.
It is helpful to keep a journal or post-it note pad next to your bed in case you wake up in the night or in the morning and can write down any dreams or something you remembered on your astral travels. The more you do this and set your intention at night, the more you will start to remember.
Validate yourself for anything you remember. Bless your body; validate your spirit for doing all the incredible astral work you are doing, even if you don’t remember. Continue to communicate with your God Self (Inner self) daily, asking questions to get your answers. The more you validate yourself, the more you will remember!
