Blog #214 Vacation Time! Right Where We Are?

Vacation days sometimes feel few and far between, so spending them wisely is what we get to do for ourselves.

Been thinking about creating a few staycations for ourselves this year; to save on gas and stress and free of airports, and just enjoy the amazing treasures San Diego has to offer.

While traveling out of town, we have the terminals, the traffic, car rentals, the getting-away thing, all the commitments, all the stress, the pressure to spend your vacation time having fun.

How about a staycation?

- Relaxed and peaceful

- Breathe

- Read

- Meditate

- Journal

- Take time to reflect on what’s working and what’s not

- Watch a fun movie

- Play games

- Take a nap

- Play with your pets

- Get a massage

- Contemplate on something new you would like to create

- Go to the park

- Take a long walk on the beach and then just sit there and Be

The time off at home doesn't have to be an oxymoron, nor does it have to feel like settling for second best. For most of us, home is one of our favorite places to be in the world. I know it is for me. Cozy, warm, and rejuvenating, we can play, explore, sleep in, and connect with friends and family. Allow ourselves to refresh our sense of joy, love and peacefulness in this life that God has blessed us with.

If you want to get some things done around the house, figure out a few hours, one day or two and just do them; then validate yourself a job well done and treat yourself to lunch. Then go back to relaxing and enjoying this beautiful day.

Take a lovely day trip to the park or Sea World or the Aquarium or the Zoo or Safari Park, the attractions abound. Or go out for a relaxing yummy dinner. Be in awe and wonder of this magical world that we live in. Then come home take a nap or read a good book cover to cover, then watch your favorite movie of all time.

It’s a vacation, do what you would like: barbecue, picnic, nap, laugh, chat. Be YOU!

Or give yourself an afternoon of rejuvenating freedom.

There's no place like home! :)
