Blog #83 A Picture that Heals - circa 1974

Do you ever come across a picture that just takes your breath away or takes you back to a joyous time or an event that has incredible memories for you?

Remembering all of your friends who were there, all the laughter and joy and feelings you shared; the crazy things that happened and especially the profound things that you realized and became aware of in the process.

This is a photo of me (on the far right) and three of my five roommates and two friends when I was in college at SDSU. We were all preparing for a Halloween party we were having that night at our house in Mission Beach.

We were transforming our house into an 1800’s Cat House and my four roommates and I dressed up as the ladies of the house. Everyone was invited to come as someone they were in a past life time in the 1800’s.

Some came as cowboys and cowgirls, some as Indians eastern and western; some came as peasants, saloon keepers, a missionary, a nun and a monk and of course gun slingers from Billy the Kid to Jessy James to Butch and Sundance. It was very interesting to hear their stories of their past lives and what they may had accomplished. I was very inspired that most everyone really thought about who they were or may have been and what they did.

We all had such a blast, I think it was truly one of the best parties I had ever been to and most everyone felt the same way. Putting a spiritual spin on it made all the difference. Everyone really stepped up and used their creative power.

Looking at all the great pictures and fun we had at the party was such a powerful healing for me. A chance to take some time and meditate; to get nice and grounded and neutral and then forgive and release the past, forgive others and have them forgive me and to especially forgive myself for all I did or did not do. It was a perfect opportunity to call back all my energy and life force from that time into the here and now.

Putting up a beautiful pink rose for 1974 and a purple rose for right now next to it side by side, and taking a look at the energy and growth back then in the pink rose and the energy and growth now in the purple rose. Then just taking a moment to see how we all have grown and changed and how the energy has expanded along with greater awareness and certainty, and then really owning this growth for ourselves.

It is a powerful way to look and see how on track we are. Such as comparing a rose of ourselves, from two birthdays ago, to this year’s birthday, it is a fantastic moment to really validate ourselves for all you have done and are doing to fulfill your Soul’s Purpose and Divine plan!

Take every opportunity you can to have the awareness of how truly transforming and miraculously you are doing in this life. Validate YOU!
