Blog #218 Sleep, Sleep Beautiful Sleep!
So have you been getting any sleep?
We all know how important sleep is to heal and restore our body and mind and set the spirit free to create the energy for a new day, especially when we don’t get much sleep. To be able to dream and travel on the astral, and do our astral healing work is such a gift!
“To sleep perchance to dream” William Shakespeare
“Those final few minutes of the day often become the thoughts, emotions, and energy you carry with you into sleep: the conversation you keep replaying, the worry you did not have time to name, the mental clutter that suddenly gets louder once the room is quiet.
And what you focus on before sleep has a way of shaping how you feel when you wake up.
In “Do This Before Bed” Oliver Niño shares four foundational practices designed to help you clear what you don’t want to carry into sleep and gently shift your focus before the day ends.
Four Things to Do Before Bed Tonight
1. Clear out the noise of the day
Before sleep notice what you may have absorbed from other people, conversations, screens, or stressful moments. Imagine yourself releasing what does not belong to you.
2. Ask three better questions
Instead of ending the day by reviewing what went wrong, ask:
What am I grateful for?
What did I do right today?
What experience do I want to create tomorrow, and how do I want to feel?
3. Look for the higher meaning
If something disappointed or frustrated you today, ask: “What might this be making space for?”
You do not have to force a positive spin. Just open the possibility that the moment may not be the whole story.
4. Connect with the version of you who feels supported
Before drifting off the picture version of yourself who feels calm, clear, loved, and steady. You do not have to visualize every detail. Just let your body and mind remember that this version of you exists.
The goal is not to do bedtime “perfectly.” It’s to give your mind, body, and energy somewhere gentler to land.”
I like to meditate before bed, for about fifteen minutes: Being in the silence of meditation to relax and clear the day. Because as we go about our day, we pick up a lot of other people’s energies in our space and after a while, it feels like it’s all our own energy, but it’s not and we can clear it out.
Sitting in meditation in a cozy chair have your feet flat on the floor and let go of your old grounding cord. Create a new grounding cord for yourself, from your first chakra (tailbone) all the way to the center of the Earth. Create it out of anything you would like. Visualize a hollow redwood tree or a rose quartz crystal hollow tube and see it connected to your first chakra and going down to the center of the Earth and just lock in.
Begin to let go of all the energies that are not yours and see it going down the grounding cord like sand and as it hits the center of the Earth, POOF, it all just neutralizes. Forgive everyone for what they did or did not do, and have them forgive you and then forgive yourself as well. Thank all the people from that day that helped you on your path. Bless them and release them. Then ground off any of your worries, fears, doubts, invalidations and concerns. Just let it all go. Breathe and feel calm and ease in your body.
Bless and thank all your family and friends and all your angels, guides and teachers for all the help for that day and every day. Thank your body for all it does as your amazing body temple.
Then call back all your energy from the day into a big gold sun above your head and see it getting bigger and brighter with your beautiful powerful energy. Add love, peace, joy, validation, acceptance and compassion and whatever else you would like to create. Then open the gold sun like a big egg and let it shower down and fill you up from the top of your head to the tips of your toes and out into your aura. Feel the freedom in your space. Notice each cell and all your spaces are renewed with your incredible life force energy. Own your sweet space for yourself. Enjoy, breathe and just BE!
