Blog # 48 Are you Listening to Your Intuition?

Have you ever ignored your gut feeling or your intuition- and then regretted it?

I think we all have. I know I learned some lessons the hard way.
A few weeks ago, I needed to go and get some bricks before the rains came so I wouldn’t have a super muddy back patio and flooding. I kept feeling I needed to wait a little while. I kept arguing with my intuition and got frustrated. So I finally just sat down and meditated on what was keeping me from going. I could see clairvoyantly something was wrong on the route. I waited until I was finely guided to go and do my errands, and I got about two miles down the road and it was totally blocked, a giant tree had fallen across the highway lanes. Wow, I was so thankful my intuition stopped me. So much powerful protection if we only listen.

Our intuition is always communicating with us!

Another big lesson for me, was when I was a senior in high school and needed to get two of my impacted wisdom teeth out and I only had a week for spring break to do it in. Tuning in about the timing, it felt on almost all levels not a good time. Then I looked it up astrologically and it was a full Moon in Aries and Mercury was retrograde. A terrible time to have anything done on your teeth or have any surgery; I thought, oh it will be ok, just this once. I went ahead and had it done and the first thing that happened was the oral surgeon couldn’t wake me from the surgery, so I was there almost all day and then I got painful dry sockets the next day where they pulled out the two wisdom teeth. I also had an allergic reaction to the medication and my face blew up like a balloon and I was sick as a dog for the week. I learned my lesson, never going to do that again!

A few months later, I had my other two wisdom teeth removed; I meditated and communicated with my intuition/inner guidance on what would be the best time, checked the astrological aspects and set the energy for quick healing. The surgery was fast and easy. I felt so good afterward, that night I even went to a party and had a blast.

How do we learn to listen, trust and follow our intuition?

Some helpful tips:

Listen: Pay attention to how you feel physically when making decisions. Does your stomach feel tight or relaxed? Do you feel a sense of excitement or dread? These physical sensations can give you clues. Meditate and listen to your inner guidance about what’s right for you.

Be mindful: Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment without judgment. By cultivating mindfulness, we can quiet our minds and connect with our inner wisdom. Take a few moments each day to sit quietly in meditation, breathe deeply, and tune in to your intuition. Ask questions and listen to the answers, and your certainty in your intuition will grow.

Journal: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you get clarity about what you truly would like to create. Use journaling as a tool to explore your inner landscape and connect with your inner wisdom/intuition.

What’s next: Fear is one of the biggest obstacles to trusting our intuition. So work toward overcoming fear by taking action when you feel inspired or excited about something—that’s your intuition talking. Start small and take note of the outcome when you act. Soon you’ll learn to trust your intuition and have more certainty with all your choices.

Nature speaks: Be and walk in nature, sit under a tree and listen to the breeze, listen to the birds communicating, listen to your own sweet Spirit communicating with you every moment of every day. You are that limitless eternal oneness of life.

Hope you have a beautiful week communicating and listening to your powerful intuition.

Let’s all tune in every day, and listen, trust and follow our inner guidance we receive.
Enjoy!
